About the Workshop
This workshop is designed for practitioners with some yoga experience who are looking to better understand their range of movement and elevate their backbend practice. Together, we’ll explore how to safely build strength, cultivate stability, and create space—all to support a sustainable and confident backbend practice.
What to Expect:
• Learn how to move safely and with confidence in classic backbending shapes
• Learn how to use props in your practice through targeted drills
• Build strength and space in upper body (shoulders and chest)
• Activate the legs and core for stability and space
• Deepen your understanding of your unique anatomy in backbends
• Walk away with tools to balance flexibility with control and gain deeper awareness of how your body move

About Cherlene Lim
What began as a casual trial over a decade ago quickly evolved into a 30-day hot yoga challenge, then an all-consuming obsession—and eventually, a quiet way of being. Yoga did not change her Cherlene’s in the dramatic way others often describe. Instead, it seeped in slowly, like water finding its way through the smallest cracks, gradually reshaping her from within.
Today, yoga remains the anchor that grounds her through life’s ebbs and flows. Her classes mirror her personal journey on the mat, offering insights into how seemingly opposing elements can find balance. While she delivers dynamic, energizing practices, she is also trained in Yin Yoga, and brings a functional, anatomy-informed approach to every session.
