About the Program

Control. Strength. Harmony.

Most people approach movement by doing more -- more stretching, more strengthening, more effort. But often, the problem is not how much you do.
It’s how your body understands and does the movement.

The Intelligent Body Method is a 4-day immersive experience designed to help you move with greater awareness, control, and ease. Instead of focusing on isolated exercises, this program teaches you how the body works as a system from the ground up.

Each day addresses a common pain point: from discomfort in the knees and hips, to a core that doesn’t seem to engage, to persistent tightness in the neck and shoulders, and finally, the feeling that movement lacks flow or coordination.

Through a combination of guided practice, precise cueing, and thoughtfully structured sequences, you will learn to:
  • build a stable and responsive foundation
  • understand and activate your powerhouse effectively
  • move your spine with greater freedom and support
  • integrate the whole body into coordinated, efficient movement
This is not about pushing harder or achieving more advanced shapes.
It is about developing a body that moves with intelligence, where strength, control, and mobility work together in harmony. By the end of the program, you will not only move better but also understand why your body moves the way it does and how to refine it.

Day 1: Why Your Ankles and Knees Hurt (It Starts with Your Feet)
A ground-up approach to movement, focusing on foot awareness, alignment, and stability in standing. Through a combination of standing asanas and Classical Pilates exercises, you will learn how to build a strong and responsive foundation — improving how your ankles, knees, and hips work together in movement.

Day 2: Why Your Core Isn’t Working (Finding Your Powerhouse)
Understand the role of the hips and pelvis as the centre of movement. This session introduces key hip anatomy and movement patterns, using targeted strengthening to improve mobility, support the lumbar spine, and develop a more effective connection to the powerhouse — where the hips and abdominal system work together.

Day 3: Why Your Neck, Shoulders and Chest Feel Tight (Rethinking the Spine)
Explore how the spine and upper body are interconnected. Through back strengthening and guided movement, you will learn about spinal mechanics, postural patterns such as flat back, and how shoulder organisation impacts tension in the neck and chest. This session focuses on building support, mobility, and control in the upper body.

Day 4: Why Your Movement Doesn’t Feel Effortless (Whole Body Integration)
Bring everything together through prop-based practice, including supported backbends and inversions. This session focuses on coordination, flow, and moving with less resistance. By learning how to work with gravity — not against it — you will experience greater lightness, freedom, and ease in your movement.

 

About April Lu 

April began her yoga journey in 2013 and started teaching in 2018, evolving her approach to movement through both yoga and Classical Pilates.

In 2026, she completed her comprehensive Classical Pilates certification under Real Pilates Teacher Training, rooted in the original teachings of Joseph Pilates. This deepened her understanding of the body as an integrated system, shaping a teaching style that emphasizes alignment, control, and precision.

She values discipline and consistency, and approaches movement as a tool for long-term health and well-being. Her classes focus on building strength, improving posture, and enhancing body awareness through thoughtful, structured practice.

Blending yoga and Pilates, April’s teaching balances strength and ease, helping students move with greater efficiency, clarity, and confidence.
