Pilates for Longevity
PURE Yoga Asia Square
Age Gracefully with Strength, stability & Confidence
As our population ages, the goal is no longer just longevity, but aging with mobility, independence, and vitality.
Conditions such as osteoporosis and sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss) significantly increase the risk of falls and fractures. Research consistently shows that bone health, lower body strength, balance, and social engagement are key determinants of quality of life in older adults.
About the Workshop
This workshop provides adaptability and low-impact exercise for seniors who are looking to improve muscular strength, posture, coordination and bone loading capacity while maintaining a low risk of injury.
Participants will learn safe and effective Mat Pilates exercises and experience selected Reformer exercises in a supportive, small-group setting (maximum 10 pax) led by an experienced Rehab Pilates instructor.
A Risk of Fall Assessment will also be included.

What This Workshop Includes

About the teacher
As an occupational therapist with hands-on clinical experience, Ying Jia has worked extensively with individuals managing spinal conditions such as slipped discs, scoliosis, mechanical back pain, and a range of joint issues. Her dedication to patient recovery and long-term well-being led her to explore active healing approaches—most notably REHAB PILATES, which she began practicing in 2022.Ying Jia believes that healing begins with movement, and that precision in movement matters. For her, Pilates is more than just a workout—it’s a purposeful practice where accurate cueing and corrective techniques help break compensatory habits, prevent injuries, and enhance overall performance and body awareness.
In her continued pursuit of excellence, Ying Jia became one of the first in Southeast Asia to earn full certification in Merrithew REHAB Pilates—a key milestone in her mission to integrate therapeutic expertise with mindful movement that is accessible and effective for all ages.
