    About the Workshop

    In this four-part workshop, you will learn that you can defy gravity and achieve cool new arm balance and inversion postures in surprising ways! Everyone, regardless of your body type or movement background, will gain insights into flight! 

    You can expect to practise some conventional techniques and learn amazing new yoga hacks to take flight. Additionally, you will grow to be more self-aware and better understand how you can continue to work to make the postures easier and easier for yourself. 

    This workshop is designed to be both inspiring and inclusive. So have no fear.  Marysia, plus the rest of the Singapore community, is here to rally together and help you take flight! In each workshop, various options will be offered for practitioners of various levels, so everyone feels included and inspired.


    Part 1: Hip Openers and Arm Balances

    Hip opening arm balance postures, such as Crow, Flying Pigeon, Eka Pada Koundinyasana II and more, will be broken down and explored in this 2-hour workshop. It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it! Here you will stretch, strengthen and learn the mechanics of these postures. Then you will also learn how to utilise your unique talents to make flight easier! 


    Part 2: Twisting Arm Balances

    Here you will have the chance to learn what it takes for your individual body to achieve twisted flying postures such as Twisted Crow, Eka Pada Koundinyasana I, Dragonfly and others. Twisting postures are known for detoxification. In class, you will practise techniques to let go of whatever may be weighing you down so that you feel lighter and brighter and ready to rise!  


    Part 3: Inversions

    As there are many different bodies, there are different ways that exist for going upside down. The practice involves slowing down, gaining deeper insights into your unique body’s mechanics and learning how to make them work for you! If you have a dream, then there is a way to manifest that dream. It’s simply a matter of staying inspired and engaged. 

    Here the community will rally together as we study both traditional techniques and also some new inversion hacks to find the perfect formula for you to achieve a Handstand, Headstand, Forearm Balance and more.


    Part 4: Tricky Transitions

    As fun as it is to learn how to do cool new poses, it’s even more fun to learn how to transition into and out of arm balances and inversions with grace and style! In this final workshop, you will take everything you’ve learned all weekend and make magic!

    Here, transitions between Crow and Headstand and Chaturanga will be explored. Perhaps a twist or deeper hip opening pose will be thrown into that transition such as Twisted Crow or Eka Pada Koundinyasa… who knows?! Maybe we’ll even learn how to float from Handstand or Forearm Balance into Chaturanga with effortless grace. Or maybe we’ll land with a thud?! It’s all good! This workshop is a celebratory exploration! 



    About the Teacher

    Marysia Do began her international yoga teaching career in 2013, while working at PURE Yoga Singapore. At the time, power postures like inversions and arm balances were not widely popularised but Marysia's passion for empowering yogis to feel stronger in their bodies and lighter on their feet became contagious. Her ability to explain complex concepts simply and teach to varying body types enables yogis to float and fly in surprising and fun ways! 

    Since becoming a mother in 2022, Marysia’s trajectory has shifted as she aims to inspire mothers and babies to connect and feel amazing physically, mentally and emotionally. She believes that we can come together to create a generation of deeply beautiful, vibrant and independent minded mothers and a next generation of innovative, loving and powerful children.
